"I just wanted to write & say how thankful I am to have found your wonderful company. Everyone has been so helpful; from the man who took my order, to the man that delivered the pellets. Everyone was so polite. Your prices were good also. I am hoping to go into the bulk sales & hopper when they become available here in Western Connecticut. This will be a big help for my hubby & me (he has parkinson's & I have ms) so this will be great. I am telling everyone about you. Thanks again"

What makes up a bulk system?

A complete bulk pellet system includes:

  • transporting & delivering loose bulk fuel to your home or business
  • protecting and storing the fuel in a bulk storage container
  • transferring the fuel from bulk storage to your appliance
  • Can I get bulk delivery of pellets today?

You might be able to, depending on where you live. We are currently rolling out bulk delivery through a pilot program in selected areas, and building our rollout plan based on interest and demand. If you can't get it yet, but are interested, click on the link below to let us know.

What areas are you rolling out bulk delivery in?

We are rolling out bulk delivery in Southern NH, Southern ME and MA. But if you are in another area, we can put you on a list to be notified as we expand to that area. We expect to be adding CT and RI this winter.

Can I purchase a bulk hopper, conveying system from you?

Very soon, yes. We offer several different solutions for you, from fully integrated storage and transfer systems to do-it-yourself plans for building a custom indoor storage bin. We are currently conducting pilot installations of this equipment in controlled Beta trials. The quickest way to take part is to let us know your interest below.

How much does a furnace/boiler cost?

There are several pellet furnace manufacturers in the US and around the world, and the price varies by size and features. Typical residential furnaces start at approximately $7,000 installed, and up. Boilers are usually a little more expensive and might cost approximately $9,000 installed and up. Bulk pellet storage can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, depending on the systems selected. There are many ways to store bulk pellets inside, outside, and underground.

How do I get bulk pellets into my appliance?

There are several ways. The old fashioned way is to fill a bucket from the bulk storage container and dump it into your appliance. However, we are developing several solutions to make it more convenient for consumers to use bulk pellets. Very soon we will be able to have a system that will move pellets from a bulk container best suited for your home application to your appliance.

    Bulk Delivery

In the US, wood pellets are typically delivered on pallets or skids, and sold by the ton, or fifty 40lb bags. Most pellet consumers store their pellets in the garage or basement and then carry the bags to the appliance to fill it, leaving them with a fairly large empty plastic bag to throw away, along with a large wooden pallet.

By handling fuel in bulk, there is reduced process time, no extra packaging, less handling and damage to the fuel, and more convenience for consumers. PelletSales.com is committed to helping build the infrastructure and technology to US consumers, and is already moving forward to make this option available in selected areas. Although there is an equipment investment to transition to bulk, there are also many benefits.

    Benefits of Bulk:

    • Less waste. No pallets or plastic bags
    • More convenient delivery into storage solution best suited for you home
    • No need to fill appliance hoppers daily with complete storage and transfer system
    • Safety! Don't have to pick up, carry, haul up or down stairs, set down, tear open, and empty a 40lb bag into your appliance
    • Dedicated location for storage. No more storing bags in your truck, closet, back patio, storage room, or any number of other locations
    • Less dust in the house with a complete storage and transfer system

Throughout Europe, the majority of wood pellets are already being delivered in bulk and blown into businesses and residences from large trucks in much the same way that oil is delivered. Single family residences, multi-family, businesses, community utilities, and some schools rely on seasonal deliveries to both rural and urban areas for their heating fuel. Basement rooms, outbuildings, and underground holding tanks are common storage solutions. PelletSales.com is working to make these solutions available, and to help America shift to these renewable, domestically produced, carbon neutral heating fuels.
